Issue and Change Management Software
The BC Program Support Log is an ASP Web Application used to
support the project management and program management process.
More specifically, it gives you the power to manage Issues,
Incidents, Change, and helps you calculate the associated Risk.

|
|
Up to 80% of systems failures are caused by unmanaged
events, and 20% of planned changes cause system outages due to
factors such as lack of visibility to dependencies. All
projects have planned and unplanned events. Unplanned events
consume a tremendous amount of resources and are often the
source of project failure. Fundamentally, the Program Support
Log is for tracking and controlling planned and unplanned
events. The Program Support log provides management a structured approach
for managing and monitoring risks, managing and resolving
issues, and managing and implementing change.

The Program Support Log
provides a vital communications link between
management, team members, project leaders, stake
holders and administrators. Workflow automation
ensures incidents are automatically managed through
their lifecycle. And because development teams are
not necessarily centralized, you need to support
distributed teams.
With BC Program Support Log, you can deliver
higher-quality products faster, reduce project
costs, and improve customer satisfaction, and ensure
project success. BC Program Support Log is ASP
(web-based), so it connects everybody and provides a
vital communications link between management, team
members, project leaders, stake holders and
administrators.
BC Program Support Log can scale to SQL Server,
Oracle, Pervasive, DB2, and in fact any OLEDB or
ODBC capable database. So it works with your
existing infrastructure. |

About Program Incident Impact Analysis and
Program Risk
A risk can be viewed from two dimensions:
- Impact – Scope /Cost/Quality
- Probability of Occurrence – The greater the
likelihood of the events, the greater the risk.
The Ernst & Young Navigator Systems Series defines a
program risk management strategy as a means of minimizing
the probability and impact of a known risk factor on
the project. There are four ways of managing program risk:
- Acceptance – live with the risk by accepting
the consequences and develop a contingency plan
to execute should the risk event occur.
- Mitigation – take action to reduce the
impact and/or probability of the risk.
- Avoidance – change the circumstances that
are creating the risk, usually by eliminating
the cause.
- Transfer – forward a risk to the appropriate
body, outside the Project.
The Purpose of Program Risk Management
All projects have risks. A risk is not negative
in itself; instead, it can become negative if it
is not planned for. Program management helps you:
- Anticipate and identify areas in jeopardy.
- Minimize the impact of identified areas in
jeopardy.
- Reduce the likelihood of identified risks.
- Monitor areas in jeopardy for early detection
and action.
